The short version
Perch is a no-login Canadian baby-gear price tracker. You can browse public price pages without creating an account.
The public alert form is closed for now. Perch is not collecting alert signups through the website until email delivery and unsubscribe handling are ready.
The product URL lookup compares your input with the published catalogue in your browser. It does not submit the URL or collect new product requests.
Information you choose to send
Product URL checks run in your browser. Perch does not receive the pasted URL or record the lookup result.
Product review emails: if you email Perch, we receive the email address, message text, product URL, and any other information you choose to include.
Price alerts: public alert signups are closed for now. If alert signups open later, this policy should be updated before Perch starts collecting alert emails.
Contact: if you email Perch for support, corrections, privacy questions, or policy questions, we use that information to respond.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, Perch and its hosting providers may process basic request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referrer, requested page, timestamps, and security or error logs.
Perch has no accounts or advertising cookies. We do not send search text, pasted product URLs, shortlist selections, or retailer clicks as analytics events.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. Vercel processes page paths, referrers, approximate location, and browser and device information. We remove query strings and fragments from page-view URLs and do not send search text or pasted product URLs as Vercel events. Vercel uses a temporary identifier derived from the request, without analytics cookies; its visitor session is discarded after 24 hours.
Perch uses normal web infrastructure and web assets. Third-party infrastructure may receive request metadata when your browser loads those resources.
Retailer links
When you click a retailer link, you leave Perch and visit that retailer. The retailer can see information normally sent with a web visit.
Some Perch retailer links may include UTM parameters such as source, medium, and campaign so the retailer can identify Perch as the source.
How Perch uses information
To run the public website, validate product URLs, prevent unsafe or spammy submissions, and show whether a pasted product URL is already tracked.
To respond to emails, privacy questions, support requests, product corrections, and product review requests.
To debug forms, protect the service, improve product coverage, and keep private engine data separate from public product pages.
Service providers and sharing
Perch may use hosting, email, database, security, and infrastructure providers to operate the service.
Perch does not expose the private engine database, raw parser output, review queue, or internal product-matching notes to the browser.
Perch does not sell personal information collected through contact emails or product review requests.
Retention, choices, and access
Vercel retains aggregate traffic data according to its Web Analytics service settings.
An analytics opt-out preference is saved in local storage. The analytics choice on this page, Do Not Track, and Global Privacy Control apply to Vercel Web Analytics.
Other personal information is kept only as long as needed to respond, operate the service, or meet legal and security needs.
If you want to ask about your information, request a correction, or request deletion, use the contact path below.
Some server logs, backups, or security records may not be immediately removable if they are needed for debugging, security, or legal reasons.
Children
Perch is about baby gear, but it is intended for parents, caregivers, and other adults. It is not directed to children.
